A new video…

So some considerable time ago, Carl and I (roping Matt and Whiskey in at rehearsal) spent a day recording some footage with the intention of making a video. Carl has now edited a final version – so thank you to him! Please have a look and let us know what you think, this reminds me of some good times!

It’s been a while…

Thought I’d post a bit of a update. Things are slow in the MA camp; with us now having a lot of ‘grown up’ pursuits to pursue. These two take up quite a bit of my time:

Arte & Bebe

Arte (big one) & Bebe (little one)

The one thing that is receiving my attention currently is the war EP, with hopefully some big news coming soon.

The album, ‘Marry Another presents… The Enlightenment’ is still being mixed, but I’m still very much committed to releasing this.

Anyway, for now, tight lines…

The Outlook… Adrian

So here is my take on what I hope 2013 holds in store…

Firstly our merry troupe of musicians is to be bolstered by the addition of two more! Something which will see the very much needed revival of our motivation and also a change in our dynamic; this will be a good year.

Expect to hear different voices not only on stage, but on this very platform as well; although I’m sure I can convince Carl to cameo.

Two things will happen this year come hell or high water; ‘The Enlightenment’ will be released, and ‘Good Night, Good Luck, Keep Watch’ will too. It’s about bloody time after all. With a bit of luck we will be gigging a lot more also.

More news to follow.

Keep your ear to the grindstone.

So this is the New Year… – Adrian.

So things have been a little shaken up around these parts recently, a happy/sad dichotomy. Fear not though, for we remain!

However, it is with regret that I have to announce formally the departure of Carl from the physical Marry Another stable. Carl ranks amongst the greatest people that I know, and has been massively influential in the way that Marry Another has gone forward; both musically and schematically. Put short, we owe him a lot, and wish him the best of luck with his further ventures! Carl will remain the studio bassist with Marry Another; which, with him being near enough irreplaceable is a very good thing! Unfortunately it will not be in the near future that you see him rocking out with us on stage, but I’m not ruling it out entirely.

Two thousand and twelve has had its ups and downs, the good, the bad; all have had their impact on our ability to be a ‘band’. Personal loss has had its part to play in my particular case. But with the advent of a new year we have new hope, and as such should have some news line up wise in the coming weeks, hopefully leading to a renewed impetus.

Our album, ‘The Enlightenment’, should be finished within the next couple of months; with that in mind we would like to thank Tim at Voltage for his involvement, stellar chap that he is.

To summarise, one way or another, you will be seeing and hearing much more of us this year than last!

All the best.

Adrian and Marry Another.

A Practice Song – Carl.

So we had a lovely cold practice on Wednesday and we filmed some of it. This is one of the videos from that practice. The song is called Bad Book Bindings and it will be on our upcoming album. I really love this song. It’s a fun dancy type of song.

Hope you enjoy it too!

Under The Weather – Carl.

I have succumbed to the dreaded man flu. Typical really as I have 2 weeks off from work. There is an upside to this though. It means that the only energy I have is for updating digital things.

As such, I have created a reverbnation for my solo music [The Bastard Child] and cleaned up our last.fm and soundcloud pages. I also decided that I should make our debut EP available as a free digital download.

http://www.last.fm/music/Marry+Another/36+Guns,+No+Souls+%5BEP%5D – For the last.fm peeps.

http://soundcloud.com/marryanother/sets/36-guns-no-souls/ – For the Soundcloud peeps.

If you think that I should make it free elsewhere let me know.

If you want to send me lemsip or chocolate to help beat man flu that would be pretty darn nice of you!

Or just tell me a joke!

so I wrote this song…

Hello there,

I haven’t written anything for a while, far too long a while in my opinion. So with that thought churning within me: here is a song. It’s interesting I think. And here is how I came about it:

I was in receipt of a letter, not just any old letter; I get them from time to time. This was a letter from a Japanese POW Camp. And literally, it made me think.

So as with all the stuff I’ve written about war, this became something I wanted documenting. With this impetus I turned my inspiration into a song; this isn’t words to music as such. My ideas married with theirs.

Anyway, I had an idea, because my grandfather was a participant. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it.

Adrian.

Who wants to see Adrian looking a little bit like a fool? – Carl.

OK internet people, here’s the thing. I have been slowly getting around to syncing up the audio/video for our homemade video for the song ‘Tonight We Are The World.’ I had all this extra footage that, well, made me laugh. So I did what anyone with spare time did. I cut the footage up and made a ‘behind the scenes’ type video. It made me laugh. I showed it to Ade, he also laughed, as did his dad. So now we have this video knocking about. If you want to see it let us know. I really want it uploaded, so even if it is just one comment saying yes, it will be loaded up! Your call internet.
To be fair to Ade, I have a video of me doing karaoke in Japan. I can load this up as well if it is requested. (don’t request it)

On the ‘Tonight’ video front, it’s almost done. Hopefully getting the final shots on Tuesday then just a case of editing and then it’s all sorted.

Your friendly neighbourhood bassist.

Carl.

We are still alive! – Carl.

Things might appear a little barren around these here internet parts lately. Do not fret though. We are still very much going. It’s hard to describe what we are at the moment. It’s not a break, its a pause due to outside influences. If that sounds too cryptic I shall put it another way.
Adrian is in the Isle of Man doing some teacher stuff. So its a bit hard to function without our singer/guitarist. We don’t lend ourselves to 20 minute instrumental songs really.
That being said, if you do live on the Isle of Man, keep your eyes and ears peeled for Adrian doing some solo stuff over there. He has his guitar!
When I have enough money (curse you Christmas shopping) myself and Whisky will head into the studio to finish our parts for our debut album.
Anyhow, that’s all for now.

Peace, love and unity. X
